Our client is a large privately owned group of companies based across the Island of Ireland, a highly innovative and strategic organisation consistently investing in its people and operations. To support future business plans and further growth, they seek to appoint a new Head of Finance to lead the finance function in the Group's two largest companies.
The role requires a commercially astute Senior Finance leader to have accountability for a number of teams across two sites who are responsible for financial and operational controls, to ensure the provision of best-in-class management information to leadership colleagues within these companies and to actively contribute to day-to-day decision making.
The Head of Finance will lead and manage the implementation of all financial and operating controls along with accounting and management reporting across the companies. This includes input into the implementation of a new ERP solution and identifying opportunities to streamline operations. They will have overall responsibility for the production of company trading accounts and customer profitability reports for the two companies and will ensure strong governance, risk management and, with oversight of all Ireland pricing strategies, that pricing and distribution processes generate maximum profitability.
Directing the budgeting and forecasting process for all Company activity, the role holder will approve all major business cases, investment appraisals and financial modelling related to pricing, distribution and infrastructure, as well as working closely with Operations leadership on customer delivery.
The Head of Finance will also support the evaluation of tenders and represent the organisation at industry forums, ensuring alignment of the Group's strategic position with wider sector developments.
Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:
- Significant post qualification experience in a Finance leadership position within a large or multi-site commercial business.
- A demonstrable track record in successfully leading and developing a finance team to achieve business objectives and to ensure effective processes and controls.
- Evidence of delivering sound strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Previous success in developing and implementing innovative, effective business processes to ensure the appropriate management reporting, planning, budgeting and financial reporting in a commercial organisation.
- Experienced in the use of an integrated financial system.
- Accurate, well-organised and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships inside and outside of the organisation.
- Strong Power BI report writing, analytical and presentation skills.
- ACA, ACMA or CIMA qualified accountant.
