🗂️ THE ROLE

As a Subtitle QC Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy of subtitles across a variety of content, including films, TV shows, and digital media. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain high-quality standards, identify and correct errors, and ensure that all subtitles conform to technical and linguistic guidelines. Your keen attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot language-related issues will contribute to an optimal viewing experience for audiences worldwide.

💻 THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle subtitle language QC projects, ensuring compliance with broadcast and streaming standards.
• Import and conform incoming subtitle files to match updated video versions.
• Perform quality control checks, edit subtitles, and report errors.
• Track required changes when new video versions are received.
• Export and deliver final subtitle files for internal and external distribution.
• Identify and resolve language-related issues, ensuring accuracy and readability.
• Communicate issues, queries, and findings to the Subtitling team and other internal departments.

🙋 WHO YOU ARE

• Experience in subtitling for feature films, streaming, or broadcast industries, or relevant academic background.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks.
• Highly organised and self-sufficient, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• A strong communicator with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate with colleagues.
• Quick to learn new software and processes in a fast-paced environment.
• Passionate about film, TV, and language, with an appreciation for different cultural nuances.
• Experience with subtitling tools such as EZTitles, Aegisub, or similar.
• Excellent command of the English language, with strong grammar and spelling skills.
• IT literacy, with proficiency in office and media-related software.
