We have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Surveyor in Cardiff/Southwest. You will lead and manage various projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils, with values ranging from £50k to £5m. Depending on the project's size and complexity, you may work alone or lead a small team with our QSs, CAD technicians, and engineers.
Your surveying activities will include:
- Technical reporting
- Defect diagnosis
- Preparing Schedules of Works
- Contract administration
- Project management
You must empathise with clients who have suffered loss or bereavement and deliver professional reports within tight deadlines. Managing workloads and making reasoned decisions under pressure is essential.

- A full UK Driving Licence: It is essential you can travel by car
- Excellent communication skills: You'll speak with and write to policyholders, insurers, contractors, and more. You'll explain complex details clearly, and negotiate fair settlements for all.
- Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation
- Chartered status (or working towards this qualification). MRICS or MCIOB preferred, and as a minimum actively working towards Chartered status
