About the Role

As our Clinical Safety Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that Naq continues to lead the way in healthcare compliance. You will help healthcare providers and digital health innovators navigate the NHS’s rigorous clinical safety standards, enabling them to deliver safe and effective solutions to their patients. Working at the intersection of compliance, technology, and patient safety, you’ll collaborate with both our internal team and customers to streamline clinical risk management processes.

Your Responsibilities

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enhance the clinical risk management process for Naq’s platform, ensuring compliance with NHS DCB0129 and DCB0160 standards.
  • Continuously refine internal processes to deliver efficient and effective clinical safety support.
  • Develop and maintain clinical risk management documentation, including training materials, to support internal teams and external stakeholders.

External Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to customers to ensure their alignment with NHS DCB0129 and DCB0160 clinical safety requirements.
  • Assist customers in developing clinical risk management documentation, such as hazard logs, safety case reports, and incident logs.
  • Facilitate or support customer-led hazard identification workshops to align their processes with clinical safety standards.
  • Offer practical advice on managing clinical risk incidents, ensuring lessons are learned and integrated into updated risk management practices.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for customer clinical safety queries, supporting them through complex risk scenarios and incident resolution.

Your Background:

Must-Haves:

  • Current professional registration in a relevant health field (e.g., nursing, medicine) with at least three years of clinical experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex clinical safety concepts for diverse audiences.
  • A proactive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive them forward.
  • Experience in a healthcare start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Formal training in clinical risk management, particularly aligned with DCB 0129 and DCB 0160 standards, such as NHS Digital Clinical Safety Practitioner training.
  • Knowledge of the NHS health tech landscape, including systems like EPR, PAS, Summary Care Records, and PDS.
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical risk management processes for digital health solutions.
  • Familiarity with product development cycles and how clinical risk analysis integrates into these processes.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a healthcare start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Formal training in clinical risk management, particularly aligned with DCB 0129 and DCB 0160 standards, such as NHS Digital Clinical Safety Practitioner training.
  • Knowledge of the NHS health tech landscape, including systems like EPR, PAS, Summary Care Records, and PDS.
