We are seeking a caring and responsible Childminder Assistant with strong knowledge of EYFS to support a busy registered childminder to provide caring and empathetic care for children of various ages. The ideal candidate will be experienced in early childhood education, possess strong management and leadership skills, and demonstrate excellent communication abilities. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment while engaging children in educational and recreational activities. The successful applicant will be reliable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Duties

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times during working hours
  • Plan and organise age-appropriate activities to promote development and learning
  • Assist with daily routines such as feeding, dressing, bathing, and nap times
  • Support children's emotional well-being through positive interaction and encouragement
  • Manage behavioural issues with patience and effective discipline strategies
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns
  • Drive children to school and activities, as required
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment in line with health and safety standards
  • Manage household tasks related to childcare, including organising supplies and meal preparation

Requirements

  • Proven experience with children, including attaining the NVQ level 2 and NVQ Level in Caring for children or in Early Years studies
  • Strong management and leadership skills to oversee children's needs effectively
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards children
  • Valid full UK driving licence with a clean driving record for transportation duties
  • Ability to organise activities that support children's development and learning
  • Responsible, punctual, and reliable with a professional approach to childcare responsibilities
  • Passionate about caring for children

  • Ability to use own initiative when necessary
  • Ability to think outside the box to solve issues and contribute positively to ideas when given the chance
