At Naomi House & Jacksplace, we have the privilege of sharing the voices of children, young adults and families we care for. The stories we tell remove barriers and help local families by raising awareness of our charitable services or by supporting the valuable work of our fundraising team. We are looking for a compassionate writer. If this is you, you will have experience of navigating sensitive and often complex pictures, and crafting them into a clear narrative that is deep with purpose. This role sits within our Marketing and Communications Team, and is centre to our strategic plan to Reach More, and Do More.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the case study function, managing associated systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Deliver an annual programme of case studies aligned with strategic priorities, including the Reach More, Do More strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Care teams to ensure stories are accurate, sensitive, and representative.
  • Responsible for championing our written house style and brand guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively to proactively identify new case studies, ensuring diversity and balance across services.
  • Ensure all case studies are developed with empathy and compassion.
  • Coordination of campaigns (eg, Direct Mail) with Supporter Services team.
  • Produce case study packages suitable for use across a variety of channels including digital and print.
  • Write in a clear, engaging style that aligns with brand tone and accessibility standards.
  • Support the creation of video case studies in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Executive – note, video creation and production is not part of this role.
  • Attend weekly content planning meetings and provide regular updates to Care Management.
  • Maintain accurate records of consent, permissions, and communications with families.
  • Ensure all media assets are securely stored and managed via the DAM system.
  • Uphold GDPR, safeguarding, and ethical storytelling standards through robust policies and processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, including Care, Fundraising, Retail, and Communications.
  • Brief staff on the nuance and sensitivities of each story to ensure respectful representation.
  • Ensure fair and equal representation of all services in storytelling outputs.
  • To carry out any other duties as required by the Head of Marketing and / or Marketing Team.

  • Salar y: £30,000 - £33,000 FTE p.a. (dependant on experience)
  • Hours: 22.5 hours working across 3 days a week

Naomi House nursing and medical staff provide individualised care that helps to enhance short lives and supports families to make the most of their precious time with their children. Jacksplace is the only hospice for young adults in the South of England. The medical and care teams offer specialist care, often over many years, and uphold the dignity and independence of young adults accessing the service. Naomi House & Jacksplace will be there on good days, difficult days and last days.
