Events Logistics Volunteer

Department: Fundraising

Employment Type: Volunteer

Location: Sutton Scotney

Description

Volunteering does not always mean standing at a stall or speaking to crowds.

This role is ideal for people who prefer practical, behind-the-scenes support and want to make a tangible contribution. By helping with event logistics, transportation, and equipment management, you will play an essential role in enabling our fundraising teams and volunteers to deliver successful events for our supporters.

Your support helps ensure that the right equipment is in the right place at the right time, allowing events to run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and transport fundraising materials, signage, and equipment.
  • Deliver resources to event venues, collection points, and community locations.
  • Support event set-up and pack-down activities.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.
  • Organise storage areas and maintain stock levels of event materials.
  • Set up gazebos, banners, tables, barriers, and directional signage.
  • Provide general logistical support to event teams throughout the day.
  • Help ensure equipment is stored safely and returned following events.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Reliable, organised, and dependable.
  • Comfortable undertaking practical, hands-on tasks.
  • A full UK driving licence (if undertaking driving duties).
  • A positive team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Good awareness of health and safety practices.
  • A willingness to support Naomi & Jack's events and fundraising activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading equipment and supplies.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Assisting with the physical set-up and dismantling of event infrastructure.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and abilities and are committed to creating inclusive volunteering opportunities. Where possible, we will work with volunteers to identify reasonable adjustments that enable them to undertake the essential activities of the role.

Benefits

Event volunteering opportunities are flexible and available throughout the year. Volunteers can choose to support individual events based on their interests and availability.

What You'll Gain

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference for children, young adults, and their families.
  • Valuable experience in events, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • The chance to meet new people, develop new skills, and become part of a passionate volunteer community.
  • An opportunity to support a respected local charity and contribute to its mission.
