Job Description
Technical Manager - Audio Products
Salary 45 - 50K p.a
Candidate criteria:
- Must be confident in the use of electronic equipment such as soldering irons, heat guns, multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and audio test equipment.
- Electronics manufacture background.
- An understanding of electronic circuits and components. Must be able to work down to 0402 SMD component level.
- Audio Design – Having the knowledge of audio circuits that include amps and gain circuits.
- Audio Fundamentals – The knowledge of frequencies, gain, noise floors, FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), AGC (Automatic Gain Control), DSP (Digital Speech Processing) and required audio measurements such as dB.
- Circuit Design – This area is a must within the position and requires the ability to design products with the understanding of the Statement of Work (SoW) or from a meeting input. The position does not require the applicant to layout the schematic or design the PCB, but more of an understanding on how to read the documents and agree to capabilities.
- Design and Engineering – The ability to think outside the box and present good ideas when designing a product. Taking into consideration the initial design and customer needs. Being mindful of production time, ability within the company to create the product and cost.
- Communication Devices – Understanding current telecommunication methods within the industry will be mandatory. From phones to radios and all other communication means.
- Strong interpersonal skills – To be able to offer valuable technical support within the company, assisting the Technical Support Team itself and the rest of the company. This includes production, sales, and installations. The position will require visits to companies and meetings with suppliers. So must be presentable and with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft OS and competent in operating PCs.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
