The role of the Research Programme Manager - Translation is central to the lab's mission of advancing translational research. The primary objective is to manage and drive initiatives that translate groundbreaking scientific discoveries into real-world applications. The Research Programme Manager will collaborate closely with Professor Dame Molly Stevens and other lab members to ensure that the lab's research not only makes scientific progress but also achieves commercial and societal impact. The manager will focus on identifying funding and partnership opportunities, assisting in grant writing, and overseeing intellectual property (IP) protection and commercialization activities.

Key Responsibilities:- Managing and Supporting Internal Translational Research Funding Programmes: Oversee the management of internal funding programmes that support translational research, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the lab and the university.
- Coordinating Grant Proposals and Funding Applications: Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals, crafting compelling applications that secure funding from diverse sources.
- Assisting in Intellectual Property (IP) Protection and Commercialisation Activities: Play a vital role in IP management, ensuring new discoveries are adequately protected and commercialization efforts align with the lab's research agenda.
- PhD or Equivalent Experience: A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline is required, with a strong background in research and a comprehensive understanding of translational processes.
- Experience with Grant Writing, IP Management, and Research Translation: Proven track record of managing research grants, handling intellectual property, and facilitating the translation of research outcomes to real-world applications.
- Excellent Scientific Communication and Analytical Skills: Strong communication skills for interacting with research teams, funding bodies, and commercial partners, along with the ability to analyse complex scientific data.
- Experience in Project Management: Responsible for coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, with experience in managing large-scale research projects being beneficial.
