We're recruiting on behalf of a successful, well-established specialist recruitment business looking to strengthen its small, collaborative IT team with an experienced developer who enjoys working across the full software lifecycle.
With clients across Aerospace, Automotive and Rail and with operations across the UK, this is an interesting and varied role where every day is different. In this role, approximately 80% of your time will be focused on development, databases and business systems, with the remaining time supporting users, troubleshooting technical issues and helping ensure critical systems continue to run smoothly.
- Developing, maintaining and optimising Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views and reporting solutions.
- Enhancing and supporting Microsoft Access applications and VBA functionality.
- Investigating and resolving database, application and data-related issues.
- Designing and implementing improvements to database performance, reliability and efficiency.
- Contributing to system upgrades, integrations and ongoing technology improvement projects.
Required Skills:
- Strong commercial experience developing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Experience writing and optimising complex SQL queries, stored procedures and views.
- Experience of Microsoft Access and VBA development.
- Experience of C# development.
- Experience supporting business applications in a commercial environment.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
- Experience working within a small IT team where flexibility and collaboration are important.
You're equally comfortable developing new functionality, optimising existing databases and working with colleagues across the business to understand their requirements.
