A family based in Barnes is seeking a proactive and organised nanny to join their household. The role is to care for their three children – B6, G3.5 (4 in the autumn) and B2 years, with a baby due in early September. However, primarily the care will be centered around the family's two middle children (G3.5 & B2‑years), as their eldest attends full‑time school and the newborn will be mainly looked after by Mother (for the first 6‑10 months).

The family prioritise the children’s well‑being, development and happiness and nutritious eating. A confident and experienced nanny would fit well into this family who is happy to juggle working with multiple ages and likes being on the go! The children are lovely to care for.

This position will suit an astute candidate with strong early‑years knowledge and who has previously cared for multiple children of mixed ages. The applicant must be comfortable balancing both sole and shared care and the family are looking for a professional nanny, who genuinely loves children and wants to have fun in the day, with a bubbly and positive approach.

The parents are hands‑on and involved in their children's lives, so a collaborative approach and strong communication skills are essential. Mum is a freelance professional, dipping in and out depending on her projects, so the nanny must be confident reading the room and taking initiative without needing direction.

The two older children are in school and nursery. The youngest will attend nursery from 9 am – 12 pm from January 2027. The eldest is in full‑time school. This means mornings will largely involve drop‑offs to nursery before planning activities with the youngest and then returning home to support Mum with the new baby (a night nanny will be in place initially).

As the baby grows and begins bottle‑feeding, the nanny will gradually take on more daytime responsibility, but once the youngest is in nursery. Afternoons will include either school and nursery pick‑ups as Mum will be around to split these, overseeing activities, organising play, preparing meals and managing full nursery duties for the children. Mum would love the nanny to take the initiative in organising half‑term activities and local adventures.

The majority of the term time is spent with the youngest boy and middle girl from the afternoon until dinner time. The family travels frequently to destinations such as France, Greece, Portugal, Barbados and would love the nanny to accompany them on some (though not all) holidays, as their current nanny has done. As the family is welcoming a newborn in Autumn, their next travels are likely to be from Easter 2027 onwards. The ability to proxy parent when required is important to them.

The family values routine and consistency, particularly around sleep, table manners and respectful behaviour. They are a family that validates emotions and want a firm but fair approach that also is nurturing for the children. The children love swimming, so a strong swimmer is essential.

The family home is only a short 7‑minute walk from Barnes station and close to Barnes Common. A driver is required; resident permit parking only – the firm cannot provide a permit. The school is about a 5‑minute drive away (or 20‑minute walk) and the nursery is less than 5 minutes drive (or 12‑minute walk).

Applicants should have early‑years knowledge, excellent communication skills, a positive and bubbly approach, and be able to balance multiple age groups. A strong swimmer and driver with resident permit parking are required.
