Salary up to: Competitive. Data Analyst role in Nando’s Data and Analysis Team.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain SQL models (in Dataform) to transform and serve reliable data across pipelines.
- Support data engineers in designing, building, and testing data pipelines.
- Build and iterate cloud-based reports and dashboards in Looker (or similar BI tool), providing clear actionable insight.
- Translate business questions into well‑scoped analysis, understanding domain before answering.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Peer review colleagues’ work and contribute to data quality standards and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and data tasks, and implement them.
Qualifications
- Proven experience writing complex SQL (window functions, CTEs, complex datatypes) on a cloud data platform.
- Experience building and maintaining data models in Dataform, Snowflake, or DBT, and understanding how they fit into broader pipelines.
- Experience building reports and dashboards in Looker or a similar BI tool, delivering self‑serve data.
- Proficient with Git (branching, pull requests, code review).
- Ability to translate business requests into clearly scoped, actionable work items.
- Knowledge of data quality techniques, tests, and documentation to enforce data governance.
- Understanding of data governance principles and championing good data management practices.
- Experience applying relevant statistical methods to support analysis.
- Experience supporting data engineers in designing, coding, and testing pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude) and responsible AI use.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain complex findings in plain language.
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to explore new tools and methods, including AI.
- Comfort with ambiguity, defining right questions before answering.
- Product mindset, understanding business objectives behind analyses.
- Proactive approach to improving processes, data quality, and ways of working.
- Collaborative team attitude, peer reviewing and knowledge sharing.
