Reporting to the General Manager (GM), you play a key role in building high impact, values led teams at NAMED COLLECTIVE. You thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment and are expert at creating the structures, systems and culture that enable teams to perform at their best. You embed and deliver the People strategy, translating it into practical processes and ways of working that drive performance, engagement and growth. Confident at both strategic and operational levels, you move seamlessly from big picture thinking to hands on delivery. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you navigate ambiguity with ease. You are practical, people centred and delivery focused, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and the attention to detail to execute to a high standard.
THE ROLE
- People Strategy and Culture
- Support the GM to shape and embed NAMED COLLECTIVE's People strategy, translating it into clear, practical and scalable People processes.
- Act as a trusted partner to the SMT and SLT, working closely with senior leaders to strengthen and embed company culture, values and ways of working across all teams.
- Partner managers and leaders closely to bring the People strategy to life day to day.
- Continuously review and improve People practices to support growth, scale and organisational change.
- Manage and develop the junior People team members, setting clear objectives, supporting their growth and ensuring high standards of delivery.
- Performance Management
- Oversee and embed NAMED COLLECTIVE's performance management framework, ensuring clarity, consistency and fairness across the business, and equipping all people managers to manage performance with confidence and integrity.
- Design, implement and continuously improve performance management processes.
- Partner with managers to lead high-quality performance, feedback and development conversations.
- Support managers to address underperformance with confidence, consistency and fairness.
- Partner with the GM and leadership team to identify performance risks, capability gaps and succession needs.
- Embed a high-impact culture that balances accountability, development and psychological safety.
- Talent Management
- Own end-to-end recruitment delivery, including role scoping, advertising, interviewing, selection and offers.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to development, progression and exit.
- Deliver a consistent, high quality onboarding experience that sets clear expectations from day one.
- Partner with the GM and Finance team on headcount planning and workforce changes.
- Drive retention through strong People processes, engagement initiatives and meaningful development opportunities.
- HR Operations and Compliance
- Develop and maintain policies, contracts, processes and documentation for sign off.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice, escalating risks and complex issues where appropriate.
- Manage employee relations matters with care, clarity and professionalism.
- Oversee all People operations, including payroll and benefits, as well as HRIS and all people systems management.
- Ensure consistency of People standards and practices across all teams.
- Learning, Development and Career Progression
- Identify training and development needs across the business and design and deliver initiatives that build capability at all levels.
- Strengthen manager and leadership capability through coaching, practical tools and clear frameworks.
- Develop clear development pathways and progression frameworks to support growth and retention.
- Track learning and development outcomes to ensure initiatives deliver measurable impact on capability and performance.
- Workplace and Team Experience
- Manage the overall studio and workplace experience, ensuring the environment reflects NAMED COLLECTIVE's culture, values and brand.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, insurance requirements and studio policies, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
- Ensure teams are empowered, equipped and inspired to do their best work, with the right tools, resources and ways of working in place.
- Deliver engagement and wellbeing initiatives aligned to company priorities, fostering connection, inclusion and performance.
- Ensure the employee experience is consistent and high quality across every touchpoint, from onboarding to day-to-day working life at NAMED COLLECTIVE.
- Support employer brand activity and help position NAMED COLLECTIVE as a great place to work internally and externally.
A GOOD FIT LOOKS LIKE
- 8+ years progressive experience in HR / People roles, ideally within a high-growth retail, eCommerce or DTC business.
- CIPD Level 6 or equivalent experience (Level 5 considered with strong practical experience).
- Experience building, scaling or significantly contributing to a People function in a growing organisation.
- Demonstrable experience designing, implementing or scaling a performance management framework.
- Strong end-to-end recruitment experience.
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience creating and maintaining policies and handbooks.
- Proven ability to coach managers and support performance, development and change.
- High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
