We are seeking a Senior Technical Sales Representative to join our industry-leading sales team in Scotland. This is a senior-level sales role responsible for driving revenue and profit growth through the development of new business and the management of established customer accounts. The position combines 80% business development with 20% account management, while also providing technical support and acting as a trusted partner to customers.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Sells Nalco Water’s water treatment products and services by developing new prospects and managing established customers.
- Primary focus on business development (80%), with a smaller but strategic component of account management (20%).
- Provides technical support and guidance to customers as required.
- Demonstrates proficiency across most aspects of water treatment products and services.
- Operates effectively in a safety-focused environment, consistently demonstrating Ecolab’s safety-first culture.
- Is recognized by customers as a partner, adapting existing approaches to resolve issues and deliver value.
- Possesses a solid understanding of water treatment technology, business fundamentals, financials, products/services, market dynamics, and customer needs.
- Generates effective solutions based on limited information, leveraging past experience and established precedents.
- Generate and execute sales and business development plans to achieve revenue and profit growth in assigned territories and accounts.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities, including competitive accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, including plant and facility leadership.
- Act as a technical advisor, supporting customers by identifying issues, analyzing systems and recommending solutions.
- Engage in problem-solving activities, including system analysis, data interpretation and delivery of written recommendations.
- Promote and sell Nalco Water innovations and technologies to strengthen long-term customer partnerships.
- Work collaboratively with internal technical and service teams to ensure customer success.
Territory & Location Information
- Position based in Scotland.
- Territory covers a defined geographic area within the region.
- Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in technical sales or field sales support.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.).
- Experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical industry.
- Working knowledge of water treatment systems (e.g. boilers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment).
