We operate two core products:
NALA, our consumer app making cross-border payments cheaper, faster and more reliable for the global diaspora. Allowing users to send money from the UK, US and EU to Africa and Asia.
Rafiki, our B2B payments infrastructure, is powering global payments.
Our team includes alumni from Wise, Stripe, Monzo, Revolut, and CashApp — operators who’ve scaled world-class products. We act with urgency, think deeply, and put our customers first always.
At NALA, this isn’t just a job. It’s ownership, impact, and the chance to change global payments forever.
Join us in building Payments for the Next Billion.
🙌 Your Mission
Drive the next generation of payout products that enable businesses to move money securely, reliably, and at scale. Your mission is to define and deliver payout experiences that are fast, compliant, and globally scalable, working hand-in-hand with our operations, compliance, and engineering teams to build a world-class product that customers trust.
You’ll lead the strategy for our payouts platform — from transaction screening and settlement reliability to cost efficiency and integration — ensuring every release strengthens our ability to move funds safely and seamlessly across markets.
🎯 Your Responsibilities in this Role
- Lead the vision and roadmap for Rafiki’s payouts platform, defining how funds flow out of the ecosystem in a secure, compliant, and cost-effective way.
- Drive operational excellence by partnering closely with our back office and operations teams to streamline payout processes and resolve friction points.
- Enhance compliance and controls, embedding regulatory requirements, transaction screening, and monitoring directly into product design and workflows.
- Increase reliability and resilience, ensuring payouts perform consistently at scale through improved infrastructure, routing, and vendor integrations.
- Optimise cost efficiency by analysing transaction flows, settlement networks, and partner pricing to reduce fees without compromising quality.
- Collaborate across functions — engineering, compliance, finance, and risk — to ensure the product meets both technical and regulatory standards.
- Champion the customer voice by engaging with users to understand payout pain points and inform product direction.
- Own the full product lifecycle, from ideation and prioritisation to execution and iteration, driving measurable impact against KPIs.
- Stay ahead of market and regulatory trends, leveraging insights to inform product evolution and competitive positioning.
- Be the connective tissue between product, compliance, and operations — ensuring alignment, speed, and excellence in every release.
🔥 Must-have requirements
- You have 5+ years of product management experience shipping world-class products at fast-growing companies and have had demonstrable engagement with design, engineering and leadership teams.
- Hands‑on experience with B2B integrations in a financial services/fintech company.
- Experience in working with third parties, evaluating APIs and capabilities, mapping out integration plans and evaluating technology options.
- Proven experience shipping client‑driven solutions within the financial services/fintech arena.
- You have enough engineering context to know a bad MVP implementation from a good one and have experience with product discovery methodologies.
- You have strong empathy for customers and an unwillingness to compromise on user‑centric design.
💪 Nice to have requirements
- Has context of client needs from a UK, African and Asian perspective.
- Experience with cross border payments or building payments infrastructure solutions.
