About Us
NALA is building Payments for the Next Billion. Faster, smarter, and fairer transfers for everyone. Since 2022, we've grown our business 120x, grown the team from 9 to 150+, raised $50M+ from top-tier investors, and were named to the Forbes Fintech 50 in 2025.
We operate two core products:
- NALA: our consumer app makes cross-border payments cheaper, faster and more reliable for the global diaspora, allowing users to send money from the UK, US and EU to Africa and Asia.
- Rafiki: our B2B payments infrastructure, powering global payments.
Our team includes alumni from Wise, Stripe, Monzo, Revolut, and CashApp — operators who've scaled world‐class products. We act with urgency, think deeply, and put our customers first always. At NALA, this isn't just a job. It's ownership, impact, and the chance to change global payments forever.
Your Mission
We are hiring a Growth Manager to own the execution of our consumer growth targets in Ghana. Your primary mission is to bring NALA to new users by personally driving campaigns across both our established and new growth channels. This role requires working very closely with the diaspora community to drive acquisition and engagement. You will be a "hands‐on" operator, responsible for executing everything from digital campaigns to on‐the‐ground partnerships.
Your Responsibilities in this Role
- Growth Execution: You are directly responsible for executing the plan to hit all consumer growth targets in your region.
- Partnerships & Events: Source, negotiate, and execute local partnerships and community events.
- Campaign Management: Set up, run, and optimize multi‐channel campaigns (both online and offline).
- Community Building: Source and manage relationships with community ambassadors and influencers.
- Customer Research: Conduct regular customer research to unlock new insights and identify new growth levers.
- Manage to Targets: Achieve key performance indicators, specifically target user numbers, while operating within CAC constraints.
- Reporting & Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on all growth metrics, providing data‐driven insights to the P&L Lead.
Must-have requirements
- Experience: 4+ years of experience driving user acquisition or market expansion in high‐velocity environments (e.g., top‐tier consumer tech, fintech, or scaling startups).
- Execution Focus: A proven, hands‐on "doer" with experience executing multi‐channel campaigns (both online and offline) to meet specific targets.
- Community Focus: You must have experience working closely and effectively with diaspora communities.
- Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of growth funnels and metrics, especially CAC, LTV, and conversion rates.
- Collaboration: Ability to work closely with a P&L Lead and other central teams.
- Language: Fluent English.
Nice to have requirements
- Fluency in relevant African languages (e.g., Akan, Ewe, Ga or Dagbani) is a strong plus.
Success in the role looks like
- 30-Day Metrics: Acquire 300+ new users through digital or offline channels, with CAC aligned to corridor payback thresholds. Launch 2 performance‐driven campaigns (1 digital, 1 offline) with clear attribution and conversion tracking. Activate 2–3 local ambassadors or partners with a defined user acquisition target (e.g., 50+ users/month per ambassador).
- 60-Day Metrics: Deliver 1,000+ cumulative new users across all acquisition efforts, maintaining CAC within acceptable corridor benchmarks. Scale 1 proven acquisition channel to consistently deliver ≥100 new users/month, with payback period aligned to LTV:CAC targets. Establish a working growth loop (e.g., referral or ambassador program) that contributes ≥25% of monthly user acquisition and shows potential for efficient scale.
- 90-Day Metrics: Drive 2,500+ total users acquired via owned efforts, with CAC improving month‐over‐month and stable LTV:CAC ratio. Own at least 1 fully operational growth loop, delivering weekly user acquisition with minimal incremental spend (e.g., scalable WhatsApp funnel or event‐to‐referral engine). Generate data‐backed growth insights that drive a product, positioning, or GTM iteration specific to the corridor.
Interview Process
You will need to first submit your application through our ATS Workable. There is no need to submit a Cover Letter. If successful, you will be selected for our interview process, which has the following stages:
- Talent Screen [30 Mins]: An initial conversation to align on your background, trajectory, and why NALA's mission to build for the "Next Billion" resonates with you.
- Technical Problem Solving [1 Hour]: A deep‐dive session with the Hiring Manager focused on a live, role‐specific growth challenge. We don't care about generic theory; we want to see how you navigate the fragmented payment landscapes and liquidity constraints inherent to African markets.
- The Bar Raiser [1 Hour]: A final‐stage interview with Nico, COO & Co-Founder. This is a high‐level assessment of your leadership potential, cultural alignment with our "Customer First" philosophy, and your ability to scale within a company that has grown 120x since 2022.
