An established and growing SEN Trust is seeking an experienced Headteacher to lead a specialist school in the South of England.This is a senior leadership opportunity for a confident, resilient, and values-led professional with strong experience across SEMH, autism, and associated needs , including pupils with complex presentations and communication difficulties.The School The school provides specialist education for pupils aged 5–16 , supporting a broad range of SEMH, autism and associated needs . Provision spans both primary and secondary phases and is not weighted towards one age group , offering a varied and dynamic leadership challenge.The Role The Headteacher will have full strategic and operational responsibility for the school, including:Providing clear and consistent leadership across the schoolDriving high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with complex SEN and SEMH needsLeading, developing, and supporting a multidisciplinary staff teamEnsuring robust safeguarding, compliance, and quality assuranceManaging behaviour frameworks and promoting positive, trauma-informed practiceWorking closely with the Trust, families, and external professionalsThe Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will demonstrate:Significant experience working with SEMH, autism and associated needsProven senior leadership experience within SEN, SEMH, or specialist education settingsStrong understanding of behaviour support, regulation strategies, and inclusive practiceA calm, authoritative, and compassionate leadership styleThe ability to maintain high standards while supporting pupils with complex needsThe Offer Salary of up to £85,000 per annum, depending on experienceOpportunity to lead a well-established specialist school within a supportive SEN TrustProfessional autonomy with strong trust-level supportThe chance to make a meaningful and lasting impact on pupils\' livesSafeguarding The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
