Overview

We are currently looking for a Deputy Headteacher for a SEN School in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Teacher in the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the school
  • Lead on the development and implementation of high-quality SEN teaching and learning practices
  • Line manage and support teaching staff and middle leaders
  • Drive school improvement initiatives and monitor their impact
  • Ensure high standards of behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding across the school
  • Develop and oversee tailored curriculum pathways for pupils with diverse needs
  • Deputise for the Head Teacher as required

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Substantial experience working in an SEN setting
  • Proven leadership experience at Assistant Head or Deputy level
  • Deep understanding of SEND pedagogy, statutory requirements, and EHCP processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to inspire staff and pupils
