We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Lecturer / Assessor to join a well-established FE College on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with apprentices and deliver high-quality, industry-relevant training in a supportive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering and assessing the Level 2 Diploma in Marine Engineering (Foundation) (2473-12) to a cohort of apprentices, ensuring engaging delivery and strong learner outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess the following units:
- Unit 201 – Introduction to the Marine Industry
- Unit 203 – Business Improvement Techniques
- Unit 208 – Marine Engineering Processes and Principles
- Unit 209 – Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Engines and Ancillary Systems
- Unit 210 – Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Propulsion Systems
Requirements
- Relevant Marine Engineering qualification (or equivalent industry experience)
- Experience delivering or assessing within Further Education or apprenticeships
- Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA/TAQA) desirable
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and maintenance practices
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
