Location: West London Job Title:DT Technician Pay and working hours: 36 hours a week (8am-4pm) term-time only Responsibilities To be responsible to the Head of Technology for: * Prepare, set up, and dismantle equipment, materials, and resources required for DT practical lessons and demonstrations. * Provide technical support, advice, and guidance to teaching staff and students as required. * Assist with the supervision of students in practical workshops, under the direction of teaching staff. * Maintain, clean, and undertake routine safety checks of DT tools, equipment, and machinery. * Support teaching staff and students during practical activities, ensuring the safe and appropriate use of tools, equipment, and machinery. * Monitor stock levels of materials, tools, and equipment, and place orders as necessary. * Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements within the DT department, including completing risk assessments and maintaining accurate records. * Assist in the organisation, presentation, and display of students’ work and departmental resources. * Support the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of DT facilities, equipment, and resources. * Keep up to date with developments in health and safety, relevant legislation, and appropriate training. To be responsible to the Site Manager for: * Carry out general maintenance and repairs throughout the school. * Undertake general carpentry work, including fixtures, fittings, and repairs as required. * Ensure all school minibuses are appropriately maintained and report any issues as necessary. * Follow all school safeguarding procedures and complete relevant training as required.
