An exciting opportunity to join the Research and Development Team as a Research Healthcare Assistant. This essential role supports research patients through their health journey at RCHT in various specialties. You will support research teams and nurses with patient observations; clinical skills are essential. We are looking for a caring, supportive person who loves helping others and can bring a positive attitude and friendly manner to work every day.

Main duties:

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communicate well with colleagues and patients.
  • Be open to ideas for improving services while maintaining quality and treating patients and teammates with respect and dignity.
  • Receive training to complete the Care Certificate and develop required skills (aside from personality and helpfulness).

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • GCSE Maths & English, or equivalent
  • NVQ 2 in Health Care, or equivalent
  • Clinical skills (e.g., venepuncture, blood transfusion, aseptic technique)
  • Previous care setting experience
  • Previous hospital experience
  • Experience using databases including data extraction and accurate input

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a research environment
  • Experience of working to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations

Skills:

  • Computer literate
  • Competent in English (written and verbal)
  • Team player
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to respond to urgent requests with tact
