Zero Hours Contract. Applicants will need to have a minimum of six months experience of working as a healthcare support worker in an acute healthcare setting or equivalent for this role. We are looking for compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to delivering a high standard of patient care on our busy but friendly wards.
Main duties
- Assist in the delivery of clinical care, planned and assessed by the Registered Nurses
- Carry out care / other duties under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Senior Health Care Assistant
- Support care on a day-to-day basis for all patients in the clinical area in a manner sensitive to the individual patient needs and wishes, acknowledging their rights and beliefs at all times
- Contribute to resource management within the clinical area
- Attend the HCA Induction Programme and mandatory development study days, participate in the annual HCA update, and complete appropriate Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF) training

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE Maths & English, or Equivalent
- NVQ 2 in Health Care, or Equivalent
- Clinical skills e.g. venepuncture, blood transfusion, aseptic non-touch technique
Desirable
- NVQ 3 in Direct Care
Experience
- Six months experience of working as a healthcare support worker in an acute healthcare setting or equivalent
- Working in a team
