Take the next step in your neonatal nursing career with us. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Neonatal Nurses to join our team. Leadership experience is an advantage but not essential; we also welcome applications from senior Band 5 nurses ready to progress. With full training and support provided, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, grow into a leadership role, and make a real difference in neonatal care.

Responsibilities

  • To work with the NNU team in the provision of safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
  • To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
  • To regularly undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of NNU Sisters and Unit Manager.
  • To be a clinical expert within the specialty, with the ability to offer all aspects of nursing care at intensive, high dependency and special care levels.
  • To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based care for infants and their families.
  • Ensure that each infant is assessed, their care is planned, implemented and evaluated in negotiation with the family, and that this is accurately documented.
  • Promote Family Centred Care and ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for the infants and their families.
  • To act as an advocate for the infant and family, ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
