A) Business News Sourcing
Source and keep track of incoming business opportunities that are suitable and aligned with business objectives. Regular engagement with clients and consultants for potential business opportunities, realising it from ‘News’ to ‘Tender’ to ‘Award’. Identify potential business opportunities from market research and analysis.

B) Business Department Duties
Carry out day-to-day Business Department duties such as:

  • Prepare board papers for Headquarters (HQ) approval and update.
  • Check and report weekly business news (internal and to HQ).
  • Carry out research and market analysis for business opportunities, competitors and other market trends – discuss and report regularly to GM and Management.
  • Guide business executives on business department duties including checking and managing the timeline of the said works.
  • Any other relevant duties assigned by General Manager (GM) of the Business Department.

Manage and regularly discuss the timeline of all tasks with GM and ensure timely deliverables.

C) Tender Support & Coordination
Provide support during the tender stage such as:

  • Facilitate and coordinate with other departments on tender submittals.
  • Check, compile and ensure an adequate overall tender submission.
  • Organise and facilitate Risk Assessment and Value Engineering sessions.
  • Manage and keep track of all tasks to follow up with each tender, ensuring timely execution.
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussions with consultants for D&B tenders.
  • Prepare and deliver tender presentations during tender interviews as well as corporate presentations when necessary.

D) Others
Plan for overall business events with GM throughout the financial year. Manage the timeline for each business event with business executives and ensure timely follow-up on tasks until execution of the event. Plan for marketing initiatives for the company with GM throughout the financial year and follow up with the execution of these initiatives with business executives.

E) Skillsets
Excellent communication skills.
Good writing skills for marketing materials such as newsletters etc.
Good speaking skills for presentations.
Leadership – experience in mentoring individuals/leading a team, experience in coordination with other teams/other companies for successful execution of tasks.

F) Working Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in the built environment including (preferably) 4 years of experience in a consultancy firm. Preferred - experience as a QS consultant.
