Meridian Grand, a luxury wedding and events venue in North London, is looking for a talented and highly organised Wedding and Events Coordinator to join its team.
The venue hosts more than 300 events each year, including weddings representing a wide range of cultural and religious traditions and celebrations. This makes Meridian Grand an exciting environment for anyone looking to build a career in the events and hospitality industry.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for events from the moment a booking is confirmed through to the final close of the event.
About the Role
At Meridian Grand, every event is assigned a dedicated Event Coordinator.
Your role will be to turn a client’s signed contract and vision into a successful event, while ensuring that every detail is planned, communicated and delivered to a high standard.
You will act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the planning process and on the event day.
Key Responsibilities
Client Handover and Relationship Management
- Take responsibility for confirmed bookings.
- Introduce yourself to clients and establish a strong working relationship.
- Serve as the main point of contact throughout the planning process.
- Understand clients’ expectations, priorities and preferred style.
Event Planning
- Translate clients’ ideas into clear operational plans.
- Prepare running orders, floor plans, catering function sheets and décor briefs.
- Coordinate with the head chef, venue operations team and décor department.
- Liaise with external suppliers and ensure their services meet venue standards.
- Manage several events simultaneously at different stages of planning.
Problem Solving
Weddings can involve last-minute changes, supplier issues and conflicting expectations.
You will be expected to remain calm under pressure, identify solutions quickly and maintain the client’s confidence throughout the process.
Event-Day Coordination
- Conduct a full venue check before the event begins.
- Inspect and approve décor and room setups.
- Brief the events team and relevant suppliers.
- Monitor timings throughout the event.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and service teams.
- Resolve issues quickly and discreetly.
- Remain alongside the client throughout the event.
Post-Event Responsibilities
- Complete the event close‑out process.
- Follow up with clients for feedback.
- Use feedback to help improve future events and services.

The ideal candidate can provide honest advice when something may not work while still maintaining the client’s trust and confidence.
Strong Organisation
You will manage multiple weddings at different stages, each with its own deadlines, suppliers and requirements.
Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail are therefore essential.
Flexible Availability
This is not a traditional Monday-to-Friday, 9-to-5 position.
Wedding and events work often takes place in the evenings and at weekends, and some events may finish after midnight.
Applicants must therefore be comfortable working regular evenings and weekends.
Qualifications and Experience
No formal qualifications are required.
The employer places greater emphasis on attitude, organisation, communication and the ability to take responsibility.
Previous events or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £29,000 – £34,000 per year, depending on experience.
