About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a compassionate and enthusiastic Female Support Worker to support three older women in Whickham, each with unique care needs and vibrant personalities. The ladies enjoy outings, theatre trips, bingo, church activities, family visits, and meeting new people. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, confident, reliable, and passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives. Shift patterns vary and include sleep-in shifts, paid at £62.64 per sleepover.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with daily living activities and mobility support.
- Administer medication and monitor clients’ wellbeing.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Help with household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate care records and report any changes in clients’ health.
Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in healthcare or social care.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Basic first aid knowledge (desirable).
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia or complex care needs is an advantage.
- Candidates requiring sponsorship must also meet the UK Skilled Worker Visa eligibility requirements, including English language standards.
