About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support and supervise the care team while ensuring residents receive high-quality, compassionate care.
You will help develop personalised care plans, monitor residents’ wellbeing, and promote independence, dignity, and respect in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include
- Supervising and supporting care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
- Assisting residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and medication support.
- Developing, reviewing, and implementing individual care plans in partnership with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate electronic care records using IT systems.
- Communicating effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues, and external healthcare providers.
- Promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing for every resident.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, infection prevention, and health and safety procedures.
- Assisting management with staff rotas, training, supervision, and performance monitoring.
Requirements
Applicants should have
- Previous experience working in a care home or elderly care setting.
- Strong knowledge of person-centred care practices.
- Leadership or supervisory experience within a healthcare environment (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills for maintaining care documentation.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and health and safety standards.
- A valid driving licence (desirable).
A nursing background would be an added advantage but is not essential.
