Job Description

As a Pre Assessment Registered Nurse on the Staffing Bank at Spire Bushey Hospital, you will play a crucial role in patient care. This role demands a meticulous approach to patient assessment, strong communication skills to liaise with patients and multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to work effectively in a private hospital setting. You will be responsible for identifying potential risks, managing patient expectations, and providing clear information regarding their pre-operative journey.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in pre-assessment or a relevant acute care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Applicants must possess existing right-to-work in the UK.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate from Β£22 per hour.
  • Access to excellent employee benefits.
  • Flexible bank/ad hoc shifts to suit your lifestyle.
  • Opportunity to work within a supportive private hospital environment.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.

How to Prepare

For Nigerian and African immigrants already in the UK, preparing for an NHS-aligned role like this in a private hospital requires a focus on demonstrating your existing UK credentials. Ensure your NMC PIN is active and readily verifiable, and that you have a recent enhanced DBS check. Your CV should be polished to a UK format, highlighting your experience in pre-assessment or similar acute care environments, and clearly stating your right-to-work status.

Foreign applicants without UK right-to-work, while not preferred for this specific role, should still ensure their professional registration is recognised by the NMC. Emphasise any UK-recognised qualifications or experience in your application, and be prepared to discuss how your international experience aligns with UK healthcare standards. A strong LinkedIn profile tailored to UK employers can also enhance your visibility.

  • Ensure your NMC PIN is active and readily verifiable.
  • Prepare a UK-formatted CV highlighting relevant pre-assessment or acute care experience.
  • Obtain an up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
  • Craft a compelling cover letter that addresses your right-to-work status upfront.
  • Network on LinkedIn with UK healthcare professionals and recruiters.

Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this position. Spire Healthcare Ltd prefers UK-based applicants who already possess the legal right-to-work. Foreign applicants without existing UK right-to-work may still inquire with the employer, but should be aware that sponsorship is not guaranteed.
