Job Overview
As the Responsible Pharmacist, you will play a key role in delivering a safe, effective, and patient-centred pharmacy service. The position combines the safe and accurate supply of medicines with the delivery of NHS and private clinical services. You will also work alongside an experienced pharmacy and dispensing team, with structured onboarding and ongoing professional support.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally and clinically checking prescriptions.
- Ensuring medicines are supplied safely and appropriately.
- Providing patients with clear advice, guidance, and counselling.
- Delivering NHS services, including Pharmacy First, NMS, and other commissioned services.
- Supporting the development of vaccination and private healthcare services.
- Maintaining high standards of professional, legal, and patient safety.
- Working closely with the pharmacy team and supporting staff development.
- Following GPhC standards, pharmacy procedures, and SOPs.
- Building strong relationships with patients, GP practices, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contributing to the continued development of the pharmacy through excellent patient care and service delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- GPhC registration, or be sitting the 2026 GPhC registration assessment and able to register before starting employment.
- Strong communication and patient-care skills.
- A professional, dependable, and supportive approach.
