About the Role
Anthropic is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (AI Reliability Engineering) to help build and maintain reliable, scalable AI infrastructure supporting its advanced language models, including Claude.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of artificial intelligence while contributing to the development of safe, secure, and dependable AI systems.

Key Responsibilities
As an AI Software Engineer, you will:
Design and maintain highly available AI infrastructure and large-scale model-serving systems.

Develop monitoring and observability tools to improve system reliability and performance.

Define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for AI services.

Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and system recovery efforts.

Collaborate with engineering teams to improve infrastructure resilience and scalability.

Build reliable AI serving platforms across multiple cloud environments.

Identify system risks and implement proactive reliability improvements.

Support Anthropic's commitment to AI safety, security, and responsible deployment.

Help establish engineering best practices for AI infrastructure and reliability.

Requirements
Successful candidates should have:
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong experience in distributed systems, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering.

Hands-on experience with large-scale AI model training or inference infrastructure.

Knowledge of GPU, TPU, or other AI accelerator technologies.

Experience with cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability platforms.

Understanding of networking technologies such as RDMA or Infini Band.

Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Experience contributing to open-source infrastructure or ML tooling is an advantage.

Salary
£325,000 - £390,000 per year
