About the Role
The restaurant is reopening its Hockley location as a brand-new Indian dining destination and is looking for a hands-on Restaurant Manager to oversee daily front-of-house operations.
Working closely with the Head Chef and reporting to the owner, you will play a key role in managing the team, maintaining service standards and ensuring customers receive an excellent dining experience.
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all front-of-house operations, including bookings, customer service and service standards.
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise front-of-house staff.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally.
- Manage the POS system, daily cash-up and reconciliation of takings.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety and food hygiene requirements.
- Support local marketing and promotional activities to build the restaurant’s profile.
- Monitor front-of-house costs and contribute to budgeting and P&L management.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain a welcoming, professional and high-quality environment for customers and staff.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Proven restaurant management experience, preferably in a busy Indian restaurant.
- Strong team leadership and staff management skills.
- Good knowledge of Indian cuisine, food preparation and restaurant operations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
- Knowledge of UK restaurant health, safety and food hygiene requirements.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling and basic financial reporting.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- A personal alcohol licence, or willingness to obtain one, is advantageous.
- The legal ability to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship.
