As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll support people in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. You’ll build trusted relationships by regularly visiting the same clients and becoming an important part of their daily routine.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Daily Living: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support safe mobility around the home. Encourage independence while maintaining dignity.
- Medication Support: Assist or prompt clients with medication according to individual care plans.
- Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Prepare meals based on dietary requirements. Provide feeding assistance when required.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide friendship and emotional reassurance. Help reduce loneliness through meaningful conversations and activities. Support shopping trips, community outings, appointments, and social visits.
- Health Monitoring: Record client wellbeing using digital care systems. Report any changes in health or wellbeing to senior staff promptly.
- Household Support: Assist with light housekeeping and laundry. Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Follow safeguarding procedures and health & safety policies. Maintain confidentiality and deliver care to the highest professional standards.
