About the Role
Synaptec is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions that support advanced monitoring technologies for the energy and renewable power sectors. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build innovative analysis and visualisation tools while helping deliver cutting-edge products to customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software for advanced monitoring systems.
- Build data analysis and visualisation tools for power grid and renewable energy applications.
- Develop and improve software used to configure and manage hardware products.
- Support software testing, product validation, and project delivery.
- Maintain high software quality standards and follow development best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technical specialists across the business.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations when required.
- Participate in occasional customer meetings and site visits.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, NoSQL, GIS, or other database technologies.
- Experience using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and within a collaborative engineering team.
