Transport Shift Leader vacancy within the busy Transport department in Slough.

  • Work a 4-on, 4-off rotating shift pattern covering days and nights.
  • Supervise a team of employed, agency and subcontract LGV drivers. Ensure the team consistently follows:
  • Company policy, particularly Health & Safety.
  • Operators’ licence compliance and transport regulations, including driver hours, WTD and AWD.

  • Ability to lead and manage staff under your control.
  • Ability to work professionally with other departments.
  • Ability to allocate resources effectively.
  • Ability to think and delegate efficiently under pressure to cater for fluctuation in work volumes.
  • Ability to identify non-conformance and complete/report investigations.
  • Cost-effective fuel management and best transport operating practices.
  • Computer literate (especially with Outlook and Excel).
  • Undertake reasonable ad-hoc duties when required.

Preferred but Not Essential

  • Factory clearance operation experience.
  • Temperature control distribution experience.
  • LGV C+E licence, digital tacho and Driver CPC up to date – the company can place new candidates through a government-funded apprenticeship scheme.

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic salary £38,000 per annum + variable cost-of-living bonus (£1,500 per annum).
  • Overtime is also available.
