An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within the NHS East Riding Talking Therapies Service.
You will receive high quality training alongside gaining clinical experience working therapeutically with patients experiencing common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. You will receive the training from Sheffield University once a week to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions which allows you to practice as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
The course allows you to gain vital training enabling you to deliver evidence based treatments and understand the importance of client values, culture, and diversity.

The post-holder will attend the University of Sheffield to gain the qualification; this will allow you to conduct assessments and treatment for referrals into the Service
This post is a 2 stage interview process, successful candidates at the 1st interview will require to attend a second interview with Sheffield University. Successful candidates will be required to start the position at the end of September 2025.

The trainee PWP will attend university to learn low intensity interventions while managing a caseload of patients presenting with mild to moderate common mental health problems. Sessions are completed via telephone, face to face, online and digital platforms. The post holder will provide psychoeducation, signpost to relevant services in the area and make referrals into specialist mental health teams. You will attend individual, group clinical and caseload management supervision and have regular managerial supervision and will have the opportunity to be link worker for the Service.
The Service supports people aged 16 + in the community providing a range of recovery focused Talking Therapy interventions for people with mild to moderate common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression via telephone, face to face and/or webcam video. The service provides a stepped care treatment approach.
The Post Holder Will
Manage a caseload of patients with mild to moderate common mental health problems via, telephone, face to face, video/webcam, groups and online CCBT
Conduct routine assessments
Engage in regular clinical, caseload and managerial supervision (individual and group)
Supported to attend dedicated CPD days
Attend regular business meetings
Support a diverse population across the East Riding.
Candidates will be expected to carry out self-directed study outside of their working hours.
