The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.
Reporting into the MEP Director and working closely with the wider Engineering leadership team, this role will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of all electrical packages across a major pharmaceutical project. You will provide both technical and operational leadership, ensuring all electrical systems are delivered safely, to a high standard, and in line with programme, budget and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in driving coordination across engineering, construction and commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of electrical systems across the project
- Oversee packages including LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, lighting and life safety systems
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, cost and quality expectations
- Lead and support engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to drive efficient delivery
- Develop execution strategies, resource plans and delivery programmes for electrical scope
Technical & Compliance
- Review and approve design documentation, technical submissions and equipment selections
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE, NFPA)
- Manage FAT, SAT, commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) processes
- Support validation and handover, ensuring all certification and documentation is complete and accurate
Quality, Safety & Risk
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all electrical works
- Implement and oversee QA/QC procedures
- Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure issues are resolved efficiently to avoid programme impact
Stakeholder Management & Coordination
- Act as the lead point of contact for all electrical elements with client and consultant teams
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, process, instrumentation and BMS teams
- Lead coordination meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks and key milestones
- Support senior project leadership with reporting and strategic input
Experience & Requirements
- Strong technical background across electrical systems including LV/MV, critical power and life safety
- Proven track record delivering electrical packages on large-scale construction or engineering projects
- Ability to lead teams and manage complex project environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of health & safety requirements within electrical delivery
- Experience within life sciences, pharmaceutical or advanced technology environments
- Exposure to commissioning, validation and integrated system testing within regulated settings
- Familiarity with BIM and digital construction tools
- Commercial awareness including cost control and contract administration
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience delivering electrical scope for a main contractor
