Based in the UK and reporting to the HSQE Development & Construction Manager, the HSE Project Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation and construction phase of NADARA’s development pipeline of solar and wind projects. The role includes ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and with minimal environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with UK regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement Health & Safety and Environmental Plans and Emergency Response Plans for projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits.
  • Monitor project progress and report its status to management.
  • Develop and ensure the site’s risk assessment and maintain compliance with control measures throughout the construction phase.
  • Implement action plans concerning preventive and corrective activities at solar and wind farms.
  • Implement and coordinate emergency procedures.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and contractors as required, e.g. guidance on method statements, safe systems of work, updated legislation, etc.
  • Define HSE training plans at a local level.
  • Provide training to workers on safety and environmental practices.
  • Manage, monitor and analyse HSE performance data.
  • Respond to and investigate accidents and incidents as required, ensuring clear investigations with identification of areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate incident, observation, and other HSE data to identify trends, create, and implement Nadara specific HSE programs and processes to drive improvements.
  • Support on the identification of hazards, evaluation, and control of professional and environmental risks.
  • Participate in the design of initiatives to promote environmental and safety awareness internally and externally.
  • Review and validate HSE requirements in contracts during the development phase.

Relevant Experience & Competencies & Behaviours

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE Project Coordinator in the renewable energy sector, especially solar and wind power projects.
  • Good understanding of CDM (Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015) and how they are implemented on construction sites within the UK.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety and environmental procedures.
  • Experience in conducting site inspections and audits.
  • Experience working with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 management systems.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable UK HSE legislation and technical guidance for high‑risk activities.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Hands‑on proactivity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results and solution focussed.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage colleagues across departments.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organisations outside Nadara (e.g. suppliers and regulatory agencies).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of construction and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, specifically solar and wind power.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental legislation.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and well organised.
  • Effective organisational, time management and administration skills.
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge in SharePoint.
  • Knowledge in HSQE specific software is desirable.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Environmental Engineering.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Diploma (e.g., MS, Post‑Graduation or other recognised certification).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
  • Other language desirable.
  • Driver’s licence.

Travel Requirements: Availability for travelling in the UK.
