We’re Nadara. We work harmoniously with the power of nature and the communities around us to power lifetimes to come. We call our approach ‘living energy’. We don’t just produce renewable energy, we live it – recognising our relationship with the people touched by our business and supporting social, educational, cultural, and environmental initiatives that contribute to the development of the communities we work alongside.

Nadara is an innovative place to work. We work in a stimulating and challenging environment, where every day we explore the unknown with curiosity, make decisions with quality and take action and deliver with courage. For us diversity is a real value, and we encourage connecting different perspectives with respect.

At Nadara, we are committed to shaping a more sustainable future by developing renewable energy projects that create long-term value for communities, stakeholders, and the environment. Operating across diverse geographies, we combine technical excellence with a people‑centred approach, fostering collaboration, responsibility, and innovation at every stage of the project lifecycle. As a Development Specialist in our UK team, you will play a key role in supporting the advancement of wind and solar projects from early‑stage opportunity through to Ready to Build. Working closely with experienced Development Managers, you will contribute to critical decision‑making processes, coordinate governance activities, and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful workstreams, build cross‑functional expertise, and actively contribute to projects that accelerate the energy transition while respecting local contexts and communities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of key development decision materials, including tenders for PARs, Go/No Go assessments, site prioritisation packs, and early‑stage feasibility reports.
  • Support Development Managers on both early stage and advanced projects, taking ownership of defined workstreams to maintain engagement and ensure varied, meaningful responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the development governance process, ensuring budgets, timelines, risks, and key milestones are monitored.
  • Assist with internal communications and project visibility, including liaising with PR, Comms, and Public Affairs teams to ensure consultation materials, project boards, and external‑facing deliverables are produced and delivered on schedule.
  • Contribute to opportunity screening, including greenfield site reviews, acquisition evaluations, and co‑development assessments through desk studies, mapping checks, early constraints review, and input to business cases.
  • Support the preparation and management of technical and regulatory agreements, such as grid applications, aviation assessments, and environmental or planning deliverables needed to achieve Ready to Build status.
  • Help maintain constructive relationships with external stakeholders, including community councils, statutory consultees, landowners, and local organisations, ensuring consistent and timely communication.
  • Assist with planning and regulatory processes, including appeals, conditions discharge, and responses to statutory consultees — ensuring stakeholders remain informed and timelines are adhered to.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety, following the organisation’s HSSE policies and helping monitor compliance by external consultants and surveyors.

Key Requirements

  • 2‑3 years’ experience in renewable energy, infrastructure development, environmental planning, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of commercial, environmental, and regulatory considerations across the wind and/or solar development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support negotiations and engage confidently with varied stakeholders.
  • High cultural awareness, with the ability to work sensitively across diverse geographies and community contexts.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and project management tools, with a willingness to learn platforms such as Planisware and GIS tools as required.
