Job Type – Permanent – Part Time

Hours – 18.5 hrs per week

Salary – £38,064 per annum (pro rata)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping young people learn and achieve, and who can help them be ready to take their next steps. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, able to work with young people who may have had multiple barriers to education, flexible, and able to work as part of a small local team that puts students first.

What will I be doing as a teacher at Nacro?

Based at Totton College, you will be responsible for preparing lessons, developing resources, and caring for our classroom spaces. You will monitor students’ progress, provide feedback and support, assess work to ensure success, work with colleagues to enhance delivery and identify support needs, and may be asked to deliver tutorial or skills lessons using ready‑made resources.

Duties include:

  • Preparing for learning by planning lessons, developing resources, and caring for our classroom spaces
  • Monitoring students’ progress on their course, providing feedback and support so that students can improve
  • Assessing students and their work so that they achieve as expected and as needed for their next steps
  • Working with colleagues to enhance delivery, identify support needs, and contributing to student experience and enrichment
  • You may be asked to deliver tutorial or skills lessons as part of your role using ready‑made lesson resources

Requirements for this role:

  • English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2
  • Experience working with young people with anxiety, ASD/ASHD
  • Knowledge of the EHCP process
  • Relevant industry experience and strong subject knowledge
  • Firsthand travel experience
  • Relevant education experience
  • A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential – Nacro is proud to support those new to teaching
  • All candidates will require an enhanced DBS check
