Location – Lincoln

Our services in Lincolnshire help vulnerable young people, who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness, to live independently. We can offer employment within an established team that employs a non-judgemental approach, sensitivity and understanding.

Our aim is to inspire the young people we support to be ambitious and embrace new opportunities. We offer transparent, positive, and open working environments that foster inclusive working cultures and encourage creativity and an engaging mind-set. We enable the young people we support to have new experiences and develop new skills to become independent and make a positive contribution to society. The purpose of these services is to transform the lives of Lincolnshire’s most vulnerable young people and our vision is to ensure every person in our services is given the support they need to have a chance at a brighter future.

Our Intensive Needs Service provides 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 support to Young People in their own home who present with complex needs and behaviours including but not limited to substance misuse, self-harm, verbal aggression and past trauma. This is the role every support worker dreams of, no big case load, just focused time with 1 or 2 Young People allowing us to really make a difference to the lives of those we support. Please note this role does not deliver personal care.

Who are we looking for?

You will provide young people, aged 16 – 21 who have intensive and complex support needs, the essential living skills required for them to move on independently and live happily, settled and safe within the community. You will work in an enthusiastic and inspiring manner with young people, in their living environment, in order to empower them to engage with the support package and to achieve desired outcomes.

You will be an effective communicator who can work as an advocate for individuals and empower them to lead a fulfilled life. You will be able to support young people in a 1-2-1 environment to help them to learn all necessary independent living skills to enable a positive move onto more independent living.

The ideal candidate is a passionate, energetic and inspirational individual who can work creatively with the young people to provoke positive change. You will have knowledge of working with complex learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and mental health disorders, as well as an understanding of positive behavioural support and safeguarding procedures.

You will possess the ability to work individually (all shifts are lone working), but also to be able to work with others to build a safe and effective team around the individual as and when required.

A Full Driving license and access to a vehicle are essential as there may also be a requirement to work in the community and/or service setting/ at other hub locations within Lincolnshire. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.
