Housing Support Worker

Location: Harlow, Essex
Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Payrate : £15.21ph PAYE, £20.08ph Umbrella
Hours: 40 per week (including 5 hours unpaid lunch)
Shifts: Early (8:00-16:00) and Late (12:00-20:00), including weekends

About the Role

As a Housing Support Worker, you\'ll manage your own caseload of adolescent people, supporting them from entry into the service through to independence. You\'ll provide tailored housing-related support and work closely with external agencies to achieve successful outcomes.

You\'ll be working with:

  • adolescent people aged 16-17 at risk of homelessness
  • Care leavers aged 18-21
  • Vulnerable adolescent parents up to age 21
  • Other vulnerable adolescent adults aged 18-21
  • What You\'ll Do

  • Develop and deliver effective support and safety plans
  • Help service users access housing, benefits, training, and employment opportunities
  • Address offending behaviour and liaise with offender managers and partner agencies
  • Maximise rent collection and manage welfare benefit claims
  • Report property maintenance issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate records in line with contract requirements
  • What We\'re Looking For

  • Experience in support work or criminal justice (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and shifts
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • DBS check required
