Who are we looking for?

We are searching for a SPOC Support Worker as part of Wolverhampton’s substance misuse service, who can work in a fast paced and dynamic setting to support services users. You will be receiving referrals, completing assessments, prison transfers, needle exchange and holding one to one sessions. The key aim is to support service users to reach their goals in line with the SPOC focus throughout all treatment and interventions planning.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide information, advice and support primarily via telephone but also face to face and in groups.
  • Deliver interventions in a wide range of settings such as criminal justice, primary care, schools and youth centres.
  • Undertake elements of assessment and case management with clients as directed.
  • Liaise with external agencies, e.g., GP's, treatment providers, and social care services.

Ideally you will have some experience of working with substance misuse and or support or social care experience, but Nacro will look at candidates who have minimal experience but relevant qualifications. A DBS check will be required for this role.
