The predicted salary is between 25647 - 27540 £ per year.

Hours - 32 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday)

Salary – £25,647 - £27,540 per annum, (pro rata) subject to qualifications – DET Qualified teachers are currently in receipt of a temporary market supplement of £1,700 per annum, payable as an additional premium above the contractual base salary.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping young people to learn and achieve, and who can help them be ready to take their next steps. We need someone who is compassionate in their approach, and who can work with young people who may have had multiple barriers to education in the past. We want someone who is flexible and can be part of a small, local team who come together in all circumstances to put our students first.

What will I be doing as a teacher at Nacro?

As a key member of the teaching team, your main focus will always be teaching, learning, and assessment, supporting students to make appropriate progress in lessons, resulting in them achieving qualifications. You will also play an important role within the centre community, supporting your students pastorally, and will have duties related to assurance, making sure our courses run on time, and to a high standard.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing for learning by planning lessons, developing resources, and caring for our classroom spaces
  • Monitoring students’ progress on their course, providing feedback and support so that students can improve
  • Assessing students and their work so that they achieve as expected and as needed for their next steps
  • Working with your colleagues to enhance delivery, identify support needs, and contributing to student experience and enrichment
  • You may be asked to deliver tutorial or skills lessons as part of your role using our ready-made lessons resources

Requirements for this role:

  • English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2
  • Experience working with young people with anxiety, ASD/ASHD
  • Knowledge of the EHCP process
  • Relevant industry experience and strong subject knowledge
  • All candidates will require an enhanced DBS check
  • A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential, Nacro is proud to support those new to teaching
