Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Centre Technician at our Leeds Centre to provide technical and clerical assistance to the construction curriculum, ensuring the smooth operation of the college\’s facilities. Responsibilities include ordering stock and equipment, setting up classrooms and practical activities, maintaining tools, and ensuring safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Ensure products and materials are in good working order for teaching and learning purposes.
- Keep teaching areas, office space, and stores safe, clean, and well-stocked.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare materials for students, such as cutting materials to size/shape.
- Manage stock, cataloguing and storing materials appropriately.
- Perform PAT testing for electrical equipment.
- Prepare for events like assessments, training, open days, and community activities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments on classrooms and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
- English and Maths Level 2 or above, or equivalent experience/willingness to gain.
- Experience with stock and equipment software such as Netsuite.
- Health and Safety qualification or willingness to obtain.
- First aid qualification or willingness to gain.
An Enhanced DBS check with Barred Lists is essential.
