We are now recruiting for a newly created position to work for a highly successful global wholesale bank based in Central London (with hybrid/mixed model working). The CFO has built a solid Finance function with a good team culture and work environment. The bank is well capitalised with a healthy balance sheet and the organisation is stable, professional and well‑run.
As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering upon the Bank's financial and tax reporting obligations.
Profile Criteria- Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) accountant with well‑rounded experience covering statutory accounts production, financial control, and tax reporting (regulatory reporting experience would be a bonus, but is not essential)
- Experience reporting under IFRS
- Banking sector experience preferred but open to wider financial services sector experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of accounting standards
- Preparing monthly Group financial returns.
- Producing statutory financial statements for three UK‑based entities.
- Preparing corporation tax, VAT, and other tax filings.
- Submitting IFRS‑based regulatory returns to the FCA (FINREP) and the Bank of England.
- Supporting other financial and regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
The role also involves ownership of technical accounting matters and maintaining a strong governance framework over the financial reporting process, including balance sheet substantiation. As the Bank undergoes a significant change programme, the individual will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to provide technical accounting support and ensure reporting processes remain robust and compliant.
