As a Senior Legal Counsel- Privacy specialising in Privacy, you will play a key role on our Privacy Legal team. You will support the development and operation of our world-class gaming products. You will work at the intersection of product development, data protection, and player experience. You will have experience in compliance, privacy and product development, paired with an ability to learn and tackle new challenges and complex questions. You should be able to demonstrate good commercial judgement and provide high-quality legal and compliance advice.
What You'll Do
- Provide embedded legal support to product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design and default principles across the game lifecycle.
- Advise on the development and launch of new features involving player data, personalization, live ops, and online services.
- Conduct and guide Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments.
- Offer recommendations regarding conformity with GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy directives, and relevant European privacy policies.
- Interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements into practical product mentorship.
- Track and offer advice regarding upcoming EU/UK developments (e.g., Digital Services Act, AI-related regulation, children's data rules).
- Counsel on data use in free-to-play models, including analytics, advertising, monetization, and player engagement features.
- Advise on children's and teens' privacy, age-appropriate building, parental controls, and profiling restrictions.
- Support the use of virtual economies, telemetry, and behavioral data while managing regulatory risk.
- Assess and offer recommendations regarding third-party integrations (analytics, ad networks, SDKs) and the accompanying data-sharing arrangements.
- Draft and negotiate data protection clauses, DPAs, and cross-border agreements.
