Company

Our client is a corporate bank based in London, UK. The bank is seeking to hire a financial accountant to join its Finance team. The position is full time. It is a BAU role with some CTB work in it. The bank has a hybrid work system.

Role

The main purpose of the role is to provide accurate and insightful financial reporting to meet statutory, business, and regulatory requirements. This will be done by producing reports and analyses from data including regulatory reports and governance documents such as Pillar 3, ICAAP & ILAAP.

Main duties

  • Producing accurate financial reporting, for both management and statutory accounts.
  • Improving the control environment and implementation of internal audit and management letter points.
  • Providing ad hoc IFRS and other accounting opinions on relevant topics that may arise.
  • Assisting with projects including the implementation of new products and services, system changes, and updates.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance by carrying out reasonable instructions in relation to the wider business objectives.
  • Assistance with corporation tax, VAT and transfer pricing issues.
  • Assisting with change projects, such as implementing a new accounting system and a new core banking system.

Candidate Requirements

  • A hands-on, qualified accountant who can handle a role involving myriad spreadsheets and much data.
  • An inquisitive mindset.
  • A proactive, "can do" attitude.
  • Management and statutory accounts experience.
  • Experience with managing audits and month end reporting processes.
  • Regulatory reporting experience - this is helpful, but not essential.
