A well established team within this Top 15 firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting and Advisory Assistant Manager to join their growing Accounting & Business Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied portfolio, and supporting the development of junior team members. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a broad client base, while building strong working relationships and contributing to the wider success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review draft financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and consistency with client records
- Prepare and review consolidated and group company accounts
- Review draft audited financial statements and liaise with audit teams to resolve queries
- Assist with advisory assignments and wider client service projects
- Review corporation tax computations for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor statutory filing deadlines and oversee Companies House submissions
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain additional information
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to maintain high standards of service delivery
- Supervise and review the work of junior and senior team members
- Manage a portfolio of clients and monitor work-in-progress across assignments
- Track budgets, team performance, and identify any potential overruns or write-offs
- Support debt management and cash collection processes where required
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues on accounting matters
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and accounting standards
About You
- Fully ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong experience preparing single entity and consolidated year-end financial statements
- Experience working with accounts prepared for audit
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Client-focused and commercially aware
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is desirable
- Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards would be advantageous
