This is an exciting opportunity for a producing binder broker to join a respected independent wholesale broker team. You will be liaising with International and US based MGA's as well as Wholesale brokers to secure renewals and explore revenue growth opportunities. Our client is looking for someone with solid market and client relationships, with a collaborative but entrepreneurial approach to work. The salary and benefits are competitive, plus there is opportunity to travel, achieve excellent bonuses and future career prospects. If you have existing client relationships, it would be an advantage. The classes are varied.
Job Purpose
Support the implementation of the strategic broking direction of the team. Secure new and existing revenue opportunities. Provide advice to clients and be involved in the development of products and programme design.
Key Accountabilities
- Liaise with existing and new clients to secure renewals and explore new revenue growth opportunities.
- Work in partnership with partners and clients to understand their needs and develop innovative, cost effective solutions.
- Maintain established long-term business relationships with clients and market base.
- Participate in a team collaboration approach to clients and markets to achieve outstanding service and client satisfaction.
- Assist in the development of unique and entrepreneurial approaches to product and programmes to differentiate the client from its competitors.
- Responsible for ensuring client service strategy and client service delivery is continuously reviewed, monitored and evolved to achieve optimal client satisfaction.
- Identify and escalate solutions, enhancement or improvement.
- Be a trusted advisor to clients on all elements of risk management.
- Responsible for ensuring the preparation and production of necessary account and programme documentation is dealt with within a timely manner.
- Involved in the development of targeted marketing approaches to new programmes and products to maximise new business opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with markets, clients and collaborate with colleagues to provide optimal service to clients.
- Negotiate with markets to seek and achieve the most suitable and best possible contract terms on behalf of the client.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members and share broking expertise and knowledge.
- Participate in the implementation of team and company initiatives and strategies.
- Support and assist in the implementation of strategic plans and goals for the team and Company.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to clients' behaviours, values and regulative requirements, in particular the Tier 1 Conduct Rules.
- Active participation in an inspiring team environment with an open, equal and collaborative communication culture.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong communication, negotiation and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to be self-disciplined to work alone and as part of a team.
- Show a strong technical understanding of market dynamics and how this impacts on existing and potential clients.
- Ability to analyse and dissect existing (re)insurance arrangements and to offer viable alternatives to the benefit of the client and organisation.
- Considerable knowledge of market and products with an ability to adapt these to client needs.
- Strong presentation abilities.
- Organised and able to prioritise/re-prioritise due to constantly changing circumstances.
