Position: Senior Account Handler, servicing North American Specialty Lines
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave.
Conditions: Hybrid working pattern: 2 days home, three days in the office (London)
Salary: Up to £75,000, depending on experience.
Introduction: As a Senior Binding Authority Account Handler in our clients Special Risks team, you will be responsible for preparation and issuance of multimillion dollar Binding Authority Agreements, supporting the brokers and working directly with Underwriters and Coverholders to support their business throughout the year as well as binding and issuing Policy documentation to USA based agents which will provide a detailed insight into the various products and rating process.
Responsibilities:
- Check Client record is set up in the broking system, preparing approval forms where necessary.
- Produce and issue client documentation in a timely fashion, including Evidence of Cover complying with internal service standards and FCA requirements, ensuring Contract Certainty.
- Review reports and liaise with processing teams to ensure all underwriter and clients' cash is cleared.
- Provide guidance to less experienced members of the North America Special Risks Account Handlers team.
- Always ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines and procedures.
- Attend binder and Facultative meetings on a regular basis and client and underwriter meetings as and when required.
- Liaising with Brokers, Underwriters, Coverholders and Agents.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with our Cheltenham based team, providing guidance as required and ensuring prompt processing and payment of premiums.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Working with Coverholders to streamline their reporting and payments.
- Authorised checker and certificate signatory for in house binders including non-material change endorsements.
- Preparation of monthly Risk Level Data (RLD) /Aggregates and Statistics, monitoring any significant changes and notifying the Broker where necessary.
- Monitor and maintain Atlas for the annual compliance of Third Party Coverholders.
- Prepare Profit Commission calculations.
- Undertake any other responsibilities that may become necessary to fulfil this role.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Lloyd’s and company markets.
- Strong working knowledge of USA property binding authorities.
- Team working ability but able to manage own workload and act independently when required.
- Excellent communication skills (including written and verbal) with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy when checking/reviewing colleagues’ work to a formal issuance standard.
- Confident and efficient in dealing with large datasets.
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook and skilled MS Teams user.
